Adler Appears Without a Scene Change (暗転もせず現れしアドラー, Anten mo sezu arawareshi Adorā?) is Chapter 157 of the manga Beastars written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki, published in the Weekly Shōnen Champion of the Akita Shoten publishing house.[1]
Synopsis[]
Louis is having dinner with his father. He tells him that last night he had a dream about his time as an actor in the drama club and perfectly remembers the dialogues of his character Adler. Ogma, a little resentful for not having seen him shine in his presentations, says that without a doubt he will be present when Louis marries, although he has been told he does not do very well with females. Louis remembers the incident with Azuki and he tries to change the subject, but his father insists on continuing that conversation. He tells him that he bought him for a commercial purpose, so that after his death Louis would take the power of the conglomerate, and maintain power in the family. That is something that Louis is very clear on and does not want to contradict his wishes, but he feels somewhat forced. Ogma tells him that the butler told him that lately he's been looking at his phone more than usual, and if he is seeing other women, he won't criticize Louis for it. Louis tells him that he is in contact with friends whom he considers more important than his fiancée, but that is something that an infertile can't understand. Louis is worried about the Shishigumi as he thinks the reason they haven't been contacting him was because they feel their deaths approaching. Ogma tells him that since he lost his right foot the red deer decided to get a good social standing and trample over the product number the Black Market etched onto his foot, and that he lost his antagonistic feelings towards the carnivore who ate his foot. Ogma wonders where that animal is right now.
Legoshi, sitting on the roof of Cherryton Academy, thinks it is time to go since his fur turned back to normal, but he hears something suspicions rising among the students. The members of the drama club are attacked by the basketball club, who exclaim that they abandon the idea of continuing with their club, which died after Louis graduated. Angry at his comments Bill defends the activities of the club, but one of the basketball players tell him that for sure the carnivores of the drama club must be eager to want to eat the herbivores. Furious Bill tries to attack the animal, but is stopped by Pina, at which point Adler appears in scene and scares the animals away. Els is glad to see him, thinking it was Louis, but Legoshi takes off his mask. Els says that she hoped Louis became the Beastar and came to the academy to help them with all the things that have happened.
Louis decided to demonstrate to his father that he is not debilitated and enters the Black Market, wearing a sign that says he's defective and for sale for a very high price.
