His Lead-Colored Prosthetic Leg is Sometimes Rainbow-Colored Under the Sun (義足の鉛色、たまに虹色に光る, Gisoku no namarīro, tama ni nijīro ni hikaru?) is Chapter 130 of the manga Beastars written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki, published in the Weekly Shōnen Champion of the Akita Shoten publishing house.[1]

Synopsis[]

In the middle of the night at home, Louis is doing a report for college until he finally decides to go to sleep. He suddenly feels a strong cramp in his leg that causes him to trip and give a loud cry that alarms his father and the mansion staff, who are armed to help him. After this, Louis informs his father that his right leg hurts, claiming that it is the first time this has happened. His father orders to call a doctor, but Louis gives up and convinces him to wait to see if the pain goes away. Feeling confused because for a moment he felt that he had recovered his leg, despite having made Legoshi eat it up to his knee, Louis wonders if something happened to him. Louis, having a sense of foreboding, annoyingly decides to ignore it, so he declares he will finish his report and apologizes to his father for disturbing him.

The next day, Louis attends Galdona University where he prepares for lunch deciding to continue with his own life by not being able to worry about Legoshi forever, putting aside his bad feelings because his leg pain disappeared in the morning. He discovers that his lunch is a packet of salad, and Louis remembers Ibuki and sighing he ponders how he has been more prone to thinking of carnivores since yesterday. He thought giving his right foot to Legoshi would free him from his curse of being born a weakling, but his leg hurts every time Legoshi is hurt, he often dreams of Ibuki and the other members of Shishigumi and is kissed by an underclassman wolf because she felt sorry for his prosthetic leg, but the biggest problem for him is that he attracts the attention of scumbag university students. Immediately receiving the attention of two felines, who discreetly mock him for eating lunch by himself and having a prosthetic leg, Louis feels that a prosthetic leg had given him a new curse. He only responds with a false smile which the felines did not believe and revealed that there are rumors throughout the university that Louis was the leader of a scary organization in the Black Market while he was on break from high school. As they are talking, Louis sees the tails between their legs, remembering how the Shishigumi had taught him to knock down carnivores, pulling the tail of one of the felines in front of him and then kicking him in the chest and asking him if perhaps a disabled deer really looks so appetizing, leaving the feline speechless and then tells him to go to the Black Market to suck a bone and shut up. He realizes that his body is still very influenced by carnivores, because for the past half a year he lived with the Shishigumi and even though he broke his ties with them, he still cannot get them out of his mind.

While returning home, Louis goes on a path whose wall is the only thing that separates him from the Black Market. Louis wonders if the Shishigumi are doing okay, concluding that although in business terms he washed his hands of a dirty job, and although he promised he would never see them again, he feels like his prosthetic foot, his economics textbooks and laptop feel so heavy and feel like a burden. Louis tries to put nostalgia aside by claiming that he shouldn't have taken a trip down memory lane, so he decides to go home realizing that he stopped worrying about his bonds with the carnivores when he graduated from high school, for he intends to focus on being a member of society. He sees Ibuki and Free in the distance, leaving him shocked and confused. He follows them to an alley, where he meets all the Shishigumi members. Seeing Louis, Free is surprised and angrily points a gun at him. Louis, realizing that he had confused Dolph with Ibuki, gives up and the Shishigumi remind him of his promise, and they aim a gun at him.
