Only the Wind Knows (潮風だけが知っている, Shiokaze dake ga shitte iru?) is Chapter 47 of the manga Beastars written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki, published in the Weekly Shōnen Champion of the Akita Shoten publishing house.[1]

Synopsis[]

After being exposed to the public, Juno takes Legoshi on stage, causing him to set aside Haru. Legoshi and Juno become the center of attention and reveals to the public that Legoshi saved Haru using his force of a carnivore, endorsing the hidden potential of carnivores. Legoshi, although he believes otherwise, does not contradict it. Juno declares that Legoshi had the desire to save Haru was not a personal interest, which is a lie. The admiration of carnivores among the public is achieved. Juno tells Legoshi that they are making the world a better place. The Meteor Festival is about to start and Juno wants to leave a candle with Legoshi, who tries to refuse since this is an act for lovers. Juno tells him that the strength of a carnivore cannot shine where there is no light and that both must support each other. Juno tells him that when Legoshi fights against society only in the dark, he is the only one who suffers. He will be feared and hated and overwhelmed by his own strength, and she does not want to see him that way. Juno confesses to Legoshi saying to come to the light with her, but Legoshi leaves.

Haru pained by Juno's move, walks away from the festival to avoid having to see Legoshi light a candle with Juno, giving up on Legoshi so as not to harm others, but Legoshi complicates it since he is following her. Haru scolds him and asks him to leave her alone, hiding her feelings (which Legoshi realizes). Legoshi clarifies to Haru that Juno is just a clubmate who has the wrong idea about him. Legoshi reveals that he wants to stay out of the limelight like he has always been, and if he is going to have the same concerns and worry about Haru then it will be worth it. Haru claims that she has been mean to him and he almost got killed by the Shishigumi because of her, and it hurts her because of the trouble she caused back at the hotel. Haru tells him that he will always be seen as a wolf before a man and she as a rabbit before a woman. Legoshi reveals that when she had been kidnapped, he felt that they took away his prey, so he was confused since he didn't know why he wanted to save her, but now he knows. Legoshi declares that he will never want to eat her, so Haru cuts him off and runs away in an attempt to avoid her own feelings, saying that there is no guarantee that a wolf can never eat a rabbit, so they can never be together. He tells her that although there are no guarantees, he has a simple reason; he loves her. Confessing to Haru, Legoshi approaches her, and they both observe the city. Legoshi promises her not to let his instincts dominate him again, so he will grow stronger to make her happy. Haru tells him that she'll be waiting for him.
