A Black Hole Beneath Her Eyelashes (睫毛の奥のブラックホール, Matsuge no oku no burakku hōru?) is Chapter 45 of the manga Beastars written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki, published in the Weekly Shōnen Champion of the Akita Shoten publishing house.[1]
Synopsis[]
In the Cherryton Academy infirmary, Legoshi's scars are being stitched, while the dorm housemother reveals that no one has been told about Haru's kidnapping to avoid a scandal. Although Legoshi has no problems with that, the housemother only pays attention to both missing curfew, avoiding the subject of the Shishigumi. Both are interrupted by Juno who asks the housemother to let Legoshi rest. Juno and Legoshi talk and Juno declares that she always knew that Legoshi would return. Inside Juno is filled with doubts, feeling that Legoshi is increasingly out of reach. Juno tries to get closer to Legoshi asking him to hold hands, although without much success, realizing that Legoshi's heart already belongs to Haru. Juno in tears asks Legoshi what was between him and Haru and if he will go out with her, telling him that he cannot because it is wrong. Legoshi declares that he is aware of this, revealing that he only saved Haru to satisfy his own ego and that he is fine with it, which is why Legoshi states that there is nothing special between him and Haru. Juno exclaims that this is even worse since the way in which he says it makes it seem that his love for Haru is pure. Juno reveals that she wants Legoshi to adapt to the school since Louis started an era where carnivores will be treated with respect. She tells Legoshi to attend the Meteor Festival to find out about the rest and see her performance.
When leaving the infirmary, Juno runs into Haru who was about to enter. Surprised Juno lets her in, but Haru declares that she has nothing to do there and leaves. Juno follows her so Haru accelerates her pace to the point of running away from Juno. Juno takes Haru's arm and asks if she thinks she can make Legoshi happy. Haru stands firm and tells Juno that she acts rudely. Haru and Juno introduce themselves and both manage to appreciate some of the other's personality. Juno suddenly corners Haru and carefully sniffs her, making Haru nervous. Juno discovers and mentions that Haru didn't have sex with Legoshi, and claims she'll prove to Legoshi that she is the best woman at the Meteor Festival.
